Why are my records skipping?
Skipping can occur due to a variety of factors such as dust/debris on the record, an uneven record surface, vibrations (from increased speaker volume), and also the actual design of the record itself.
If you experience skipping, ensure the record player is on a flat surface and check the record for any warping or bending. Test at medium to low volume to eliminate vibrations from speakers.
the next step to resolve this would be to try different records, you can also clean your records using a carbon fiber brush for light cleaning and mild soap and water for heavy cleaning.
If the skipping persists it is possible that the needle is having difficulty tracking the grooves on the album.
*Newer records can be manufactured with smaller grooves so the needle might not track in the groove as well as it would on older records.
